Trey Brackman | Acupuncturist Nashville, TN - L.Ac, LMT
Trey Brackman, a licensed acupuncturist and massage therapist who is NCCAOM Certified in Oriental medicine and Chinese herbology, discovered of the benefits of acupuncture in 1991, while studying martial arts alongside the owner of a Florida acupuncture and Chinese medicine clinic.
His faith in the power of acupuncture grew in 1996, when his mother was diagnosed with lung cancer. The treatment she chose to cure her cancer was a combination of acupuncture, Chinese herbs and a macrobiotic diet. The fact she is still cancer free to this day, reaffirms Trey’s belief in the healing power of acupuncture treatment.
Inspired by his personal experience as well as being able to witness firsthand people achieving wellness at the Florida clinic, he moved to Albuquerque to earn a Master’s of Science in Oriental Medicine from the International Institute of Chinese Medicine. He graduated in 2003, and immediately began his practice in New Mexico.
In 2007, Trey moved his family back to his hometown of Nashville, Tennessee. Trey and his wife Jenny have three children: two sons and a daughter. In addition to his passion of practicing chiropractic acupuncture, Trey enjoys family time, reading, camping and martial arts.
What is Acupuncture?
In the Western culture, acupuncture consists of several different therapies derived from Oriental medicine. Primarily, acupuncture embraces the technique of inserting fine needles at specific points in the body; shown to be effective in treating a wide range of ailments. Trey administers several forms of acupuncture treatments including acupuncture for back pain; known as chiropractic acupuncture.

Our program includes ten sessions: four sessions the first week followed by 2 sessions per week for the following three weeks. Most acupuncture needles are not much thicker than a follicle of hair, and their insertion is virtually painless. Tips for Your Acupuncture Treatment
It is wise to wear loose clothing to your appointment and women should avoid wearing stockings or long dresses. Treatment is not recommended when individuals are excessively fatigued, hungry, emotionally upset, have consumed alcohol or engaged in sex immediately prior to the appointment. It is crucial to relax and remember there is nothing to fear.
Trey prides himself on providing compassionate patient care by making the patient feel at ease and comfortable during acupuncture treatments. He desires his patients to leave his office relaxed and refreshed. Trey encourages them to ask any questions they may have along the way, in order for him to cater to individual needs, which in turn allows them to get the most beneficial treatment possible.
It is important not to change positions or make sudden movements during any acupuncture treatment. If at any point the patient is uncomfortable, they should verbalize it to the practitioner so they may make adjustments.
What can I expect after treatment?
Patients often experience noteworthy results in the first treatment. Results vary from instant, complete relief to partial relief from symptoms. Additionally, the extent of each acupuncture session’s relief varies from long lasting to short term with some pain returning. It is rare but in a few cases there may be no immediate relief, but the pain will diminish over the next couple of days. Rest assured the majority of individuals leave feeling relieved from the pain that has crippled their lives.
